Govt forms probe panel to look into Tara Air crash

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Wednesday formed a five-member investigation committee to look into the crash of Tara Air plane.

Former Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Rajesh Raj Dali has been named the chairman of the committee. Nepal Army Colonel Deepak Bastola, Nepal Airlines Captain Shrawan Rijal and Simrik Airlines Engineer Ram Prasad Koirala are the members of the committee.

Suresh Acharya, joint-secretary at the ministry, has been appointed the member-secretary of the committee. The committee has been given 90 days to submit its report.

A Twin Otter of Tara Air (9N-AHH) with 20 passengers and three crew members aboard crashed in Tirkhedhunga of Dana VDC, Myagdi district, killing all 23 on board.
